A Regulation to apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts certain Central Acts relating to tariff and customs. WHEREAS it is expedient to apply to the Chittagong Hill- tracts certain Central Acts relating to tariff and customs; AND WHEREAS by sub-section (2) of section 92 of the Government of India Act, 1935, the 1Government is empowered to make regulations for the peace and good Government of any area in his Province which is for the time being an excluded, or a partially excluded area; NOW, THEREFORE, the 2Government, in exercise of the said powers and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, is pleased to make the following Regulation, namely:-
Section 1. Short title and commencement
(1) This Regulation may be called THE CHITTAGONG HILL-TRACTS (TARIFF AND CUSTOMS) REGULATION, 1952.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
Section 2. Application of certain Central Acts to the Chittagong Hill-tracts
(1) The enactments specified in Schedule I annexed hereto shall, subject to the amendments mentioned in the fourth column thereof, apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts.
(2) The enactment specified in Schedule II annexed hereto shall, to the extent mentioned in the fourth column thereof, apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts.
