A Regulation to apply certain labour laws to the Chittagong Hill-tracts
A Regulation to apply certain labour laws to the Chittagong Hill-tracts WHEREAS it is expedient to apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts certain enactments regulating labour, trade union and industrial disputes, payment of wages and compensation and employment of women and children in factories and industries; AND WHEREAS by sub-section (2) of section 92 of the Government of India act, 1935, the 1Government is empowered to make regulations for the peace and good Government of any area in which is for the time being an excluded or a partially excluded area; NOW, THEREFORE, the 2Government, in exercise of the said powers and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, is pleased to make the following Regulation, namely:-
Section 1. Short title and commencement
(1) This Regulation may be called THE CHITTAGONG HILL-TRACTS (LABOUR LAWS) REGULATION, 1954.
Section 2. Application of certain enactments to the Chittagong Hill- tracts
The enactments specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall, subject to the amendments mentioned in the fourth column thereof, apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts;
