A regulation to apply certain laws relating to cotton ginning and pressing factories, industrial statistics and employment in industries to the Chittagong Hill-tracts. WHEREAS it is expedient to apply to the Chittagong Hill- tracts certain enactments relating to cotton ginning and cotton pressing factories, collection of industrial statistics and employment in industrial establishments; AND WHEREAS by clause (3) of Article 103 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the 1Government is empowered to make regulations for the peace and good Government of the excluded area; NOW, Therefore, the 2Government in exercise of the said power and all other powers enabling it in this behalf, is pleased to make the following Regulation, namely:-
Section 1. Short title and commencement
(1) This Regulation may be called the Chittagong Hill- tracts (Industrial Laws) Regulation, 1956.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
Section 2. Application of certain Acts to the Chittagong Hill- tracts
The enactments specified in the Schedule below shall, subject to modification mentioned in the fourth column thereof, apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts.
